Everything your club needs in one place.

No technical knowledge required.

Send your members a simple invite link and they're in. You control who joins, and every member sets up their own account so you're not doing it for them.

Built for bird clubs. Not adapted from something else.

Most websites and social platforms were built for other things. BirdClub was built from the ground up for the way bird clubs actually work.

Website

A free website for your club.

Your club gets its own website with your name, your logo and your colours. It looks like yours because it is. No technical knowledge needed to set it up or keep it running.

Engagement

Build a community.

When members can see what the rest of the club is finding, they start submitting their own sightings more regularly. The club builds a richer record over time and members get more reason to come back.

Gallery

All of your photos in one place.

Every photo your members share is automatically organised by species. No more digging through old messages to find who photographed that Waxwing in January.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Still not convinced? Try reading over our frequently asked questions or reach out to us directly to learn more.

    • Why is BirdClub free?

We are a non-profit driven by a simple belief: bird clubs matter, for birders and for local conservation, and we didn't want cost to be the reason a club stayed stuck on spreadsheets. We are funded by our founders and, in future, by voluntary donations from clubs who find it useful.

    • How is BirdClub financed?

We rely on donations from our founders. In the future we will also allow clubs and individuals to make voluntary donations to help cover the cost of running the site.

    • Can anyone create a club?

Yes. And not every club needs a president, secretary or treasurer. Some of our most active clubs are simply groups of friends who share a passion for birdwatching.

    • Why can't I find my local club?

Clubs are invite-only. Your club secretary will need to send you an invite link to join. If your club hasn't set up on BirdClub yet, share this page with whoever runs it.

    • Can anyone see our club page?

No. Your club is completely private. Only the members you invite can see your sightings, photos and club pages.

    • We already submit our records to BirdTrack. Do we have to choose?

Not at all. BirdClub and BirdTrack work together. Members submit their sightings on BirdClub, and when it's time to contribute to BirdTrack, one person downloads the whole club's records in a single file and uploads it in minutes. No chasing individual members. No duplicate work.

    • How do we move our existing members across?

You create the club, then share a single invite link with your membership — by email, WhatsApp, or however you normally communicate. Most clubs are set up and have members joining within the same day. If you get stuck, we're happy to help: hello@bird.club.

    • Is BirdClub only for UK birders?

BirdClub was born in the UK but we support bird clubs internationally via the IOC World Bird List. If you'd like us to add a specific bird list for your country, just get in touch.

    • Will you be releasing new features?

Yes. We release new features regularly as we continue to make running a bird club as easy as possible.
